Recent Testimonials from ArtSea Gallery Renters
I was impressed with how the gallery was a weekly destination for the local walkers and a destination for other residents further afield. It is a great model for showing artist led exhibitions. The building and whole facility is clean and bright and has a friendly and inclusive ambience and is well supplied with essentials. “Constant Miracles” Exhibitors, July 19 – 25, 2024
The ArtSea Gallery is a must for the community and local artists. There is nothing else like it. And it’s nice for me to be able to sit and paint in a well lit area as i live in a basement. I went for a walk every morning along the seawall and opened early each day. I will also say the grounds are well maintained and it’s just a beautiful place to visit. I was amazed by the amount of visitors and how nice everyone was. I was able to share a lot about my process with other artists who came and visitors mentioned that it was great reading all the history that i have with each painting. The location was great, nice to have bathrooms next-door, lots of parking and wheelchair parking was great as there was a lot of people with mobility issues.
“West Coast Tugboat Project” Gallery Show, June 28 – July 4 2024
The ArtSea Gallery is a perfect venue for us, and it gets better all the time. The ArtSea Gallery has a wonderful presence in our community and it attracts both tourists and greater Victoria residents to its shows.
“The Beauty of Nature” Exhibitors, July 5-11, 2024
Everything to do with the building was perfect. I love the gallery’s location as it attracts those walking the trail even tourists of which I had many… It’s extremely important in my eyes. I have made more money in the gallery in the past two years than all other venues as of late. I find people are more likely to visit than at “private” gallery’s.
Ducks of BC & more Exhibitor, June 7-13, 2024
This space is extremely important for the Arts Community. There are not very many spaces that artists can rent to show their work and this one is well-kept and very organized.
“Following My Muse” Exhibitors, May 24 – 30, 2024
It seems to be well loved by everyone who comes and rave reviews from all. Certainly it’s a blessing to all of the artists who can use the space to show their work. There is nothing else like it in Victoria or anywhere else that I know of. Location is perfect and it’s always a successful week for me…
“Wild and Free” Bednarski Exhibitor, May 3-9, 2024
As a New comer to Sidney the gallery has become a regular part of our lives, as we saw with other walkers, bikers, care home residents on a day trip…it’s an important part of life on the peninsula.
“Surfacing” Exhibitors, April 26-May 4, 2024
I think you are preforming an important service to the community. …The ArtSea gallery makes it possible for many community members to experience many kinds of art in an easily accessible setting and for artists to gain exposure to the community. I do not know of another gallery that makes this intersection between artist and viewer so easy and successful.
“90 Years of Fibre Arts” Exhibitors, March 15 – 21, 2024
The ArtSea Gallery has been very important to me as an affordable venue to showcase my work, connect with customers in a relaxed setting and receive feedback and encouragement from other artists.
“Awakening” Exhibitors, Feb 29 – March 15, 2024
ArtSea Gallery is a tremendous resource for local artists. The number of bookings is testament to that reality. And the local community visits it regularly — we heard and witnessed that over and over.
“Glorious!” Exhibitor, Dec. 1-7, 2023
The ArtSea Galley is a treasure in our community. There is nothing else like it in Greater Victoria for member artists and clubs to display their work and personally welcome visitors. Local and regional residents, tourists and artists all greatly value this special space, and comment on it when visiting shows. Our non-profit club is proud to be a member of ArtSea and commends the organization on its service to the arts community.
Studio 30 Art Club Exhibitors, November 10 – 16, 2023
As artist(s) this facility is invaluable. Not only does it give us a space to display our art for sale, it gives us the opportunity to engage with other artists and supporters of the arts. Art can be a very solitary thing so social interaction is a good thing once in a while. …For our patrons, we found so many people who come to this gallery on a regular basis, weekly, every Sunday after church, families that come by every Saturday rain or shine and on and on. We found that people spent time with us and were genuinely interested in the stories behind our art.
“Variety is the Spice of Life” Exhibitors, Oct 27 – Nov 2, 2023
We were pleased with the building and space. …Wall hangers were great and we were really happy there were so many white plinths.
ArtSea is a unique community gallery in the Saanich and Victoria area. It provides a much needed space for a huge number of visual artists, and is really important for both creatives and community who also visit regularly and appreciate this great resource. A huge ‘Thank You’ to the all the ArtSea Gallery staff and volunteers, and the people on the ArtSea Community Council. Everything you do is SO appreciated!
“WaterWorks” Exhibitors, October 20 – 26, 2023
This is my fourth show at ArtSea. I have said before it’s a wonderful place for the local art lovers to come in and I always hear people saying how much they love coming in every week to see the different art. There is real art lovers in Sidney and a lot of out-of-town people have come through every time I’ve been there. This time there were people from New York, California, Calgary, Edmonton, Ontario and Missouri I’ve made a lot of good connections for future sales …It’s wonderful to have such a lovely space to show our work and I know it’s appreciated by all who come in.
“Impressions” Exhibitors, Sept 29 – Oct 5, 2023
ArtSea Gallery is very important to local artists and the community. I regularity stop in to see what is showing and to chat with local artists.
“Fab5 Meraki” Exhibitors, Sept 1-7, 2023
ArtSea is a wonderful facility to have for an art show. It is in a perfect location with the walkway along the water and brings in many people to view the shows. The fact that the gallery is booked for most of the year with local artists, and booked at least a year ahead, speaks at how important it is to the local art community. We need more facilities like that in other areas of Greater Victoria.
“Four Friends Having Fun” Exhibitors, August 25-31, 2023
ArtSea Gallery provides a unique and critical juncture for local artists and artisans to display their work, and for Sidney and area residents to learn about and enjoy different kinds of art. For local artists, ArtSea Gallery provides a bright, affordable, safe, and well organized space to show and sell their work.
Fall 2023 Gallery Exhibitor
[The ArtSea Gallery is…] Tremendously important. Many many visitors told us that they visit every show which tells us that the locals love the gallery as a destination point on their walks. We were also impressed with how many tourists came into our show.
“Fun With Fibre: Cloth and Wood” Exhibitors, June 23 to June 29. 2023.
[The ArtSea Gallery is…] a very important setting for local artists to display their arts & crafts – I hope this continues to receive support and recognition for it’s place in the community of Sidney!
… I did hear about some folks who tried to find parking twice …and had to turn around and leave…they weren’t too mobile so street parking was not an option.
“Palettes Ablaze!” Exhibitors, Jule 30 – July 6, 2023
The Artsea gallery is one of Sidney‘s treasures. The location is absolutely superb to be on the ocean and have such a wonderful promenade in front of it. I have not heard a negative comment about Artsea gallery and only accolades. I can’t stress enough the importance, the gallery has to this community and supporting the artists in our area and also giving the opportunity for locals and visitors to be exposed to this artwork. The building itself is in fairly good shape and is easily accessible for wheelchairs, which is wonderful. The parking lot could always be bigger. …People come from all over, knowing that we have this gallery. The location is perfect. It even gives children the opportunity to come in and visit with their parents while they are at the playground.
“Diverse Dreams” Exhibitors, June 16-22, 2023
The gallery is wonderful, I wish we had something similar on the Westshore. Appreciation of the Arts and participation in the arts has been shown to improve mental, physical and emotional health. Peninsula residents are fortunate to have this facility with its staff and volunteers.
“Four Winds” Exhibitors, June 2- 8, 2023
Very important resource, very well received by visitors
“Winging-It” Exhibitors, May 26 – June 1, 2023
The Gallery is a gem and the location could not be more scenic. Parking was a challenge at times. It is very important as a resource for local artists. Tourists and locals enjoy the variety of shows. Lots of positive comments on the venue.
”Anything Goes 2023” Exhibitors, May 11-18, 2023
Community galleries such as ArtSea are vital cultural resources! Having an easily accessible, welcoming space where local artists can connect with members of the community, who are in turn exposed to a variety of art, enhances the quality of life for everyone. ArtSea Gallery is an important community asset.
Arts on the Islands, Southern Guld Islands Exhibitors, April 28 – May 11, 2023
I feel it’s extremely important as my sales were greater here than any other venue I have used.
Ducks of British Columbia” Exhibitor April 7-13, 2023
In my opinion, ArtSea Gallery is a very important resource for the greater community. Even though I didn’t make any sales, the conversation about art was an enriching experience. Art is connected to society and how it is changing. I was able to share my voice and could see how it created new dialogue with some of the people I spoke with. I absolutely loved this aspect of the show.
“Finding Middle Ground” Exhibitors, March 17-23, 2023
It is crucial! Many of us can’t always find a means to show what we are creating and galleries have significant financial burdens, so showing and selling through them is limited. The gallery provides an opportunity for any level of artist to create a focused display of their work, or shared works, and network with other artists and art admirers on a focused level.
As someone with a disability and an expired permit, I had to walk a little further with each piece, lol, but it wasn’t very far at all. Hardest part was the sandwich boards. ultimately: a very easy facility to work with.
“I’ve Looked at Clouds” Exhibitor, March 10-16, 2023
We found the gallery to be clean and well kept, with good amenities. Our group feels that the ArtSea gallery is a unique and valuable asset to Sidney. We aren’t aware of other facilities like this, and were very pleased with the opportunity to show our work as new and emerging artists in the area.
Newcomers Exhibitors, Dec. 2-8, 2022
The ArtSea Gallery is made possible, thanks to our wonderful ArtSea Gallery Team!
