On November 11th of each year, Canadians pause their fast-paced lives to remember those who serve our nation and honour the sacrifices they have made for our freedoms. The Canadian Legion suggests several ways that we can honour our Veterans during this period of Remembrance.
ArtSea invites you to join us in painting Rocks for Remembrance. Collect some palm sized rocks and decorate with images that represent Remembrance Day. Place the rocks at local memorials, or in your garden. You can share your creations with us by submitting photos of your work using the form below.
You can take two minutes of silence when you place your rocks to reflect on the sacrifices made by so many.
This is a great opportunity to share some creative time with members of your family or talk about the reason for Remembrance Day with children.
The Royal Canadian Legion has some great learning resources to support your conversation! Learn more.

In Flanders Fields
John McCrae - 1872-1918 In Flanders fields the poppies blow Between the crosses, row on row, That mark our place; and in the sky The larks, still bravely singing, fly Scarce heard amid the guns below. We are the Dead. Short days ago We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow, Loved and were loved, and now we lie In Flanders fields. Take up our quarrel with the foe: To you from failing hands we throw The torch; be yours to hold it high. If ye break faith with us who die We shall not sleep, though poppies grow In Flanders fields.
