Reflecting Beauty

June 26 July 2

Show Times: 10am – 4pm, daily June 26 – July 2

Please join us for our opening reception: Saturday, June 27th 5 – 7pm

Exhibition Details:”Reflecting Beauty” brings together the distinct vision of three artists whose work explores the many ways beauty can be seen, felt and remembered.

Through the lens of world photographer, Jill Stafiej, viewers are invited to contemplate and reflect upon powerful moments captured across the globe. Stafiej, artistically portrays cultures, cityscapes, seascapes and landscapes that reveal the quiet poetry and beauty of everyday life.

Complimenting these images are the detailed realist pastel paintings of Diana Farrell, whose use of colour, texture, and light transforms familiar subjects into deeply emotional and intimate works of art. Each piece reflects a profound appreciation for detail, atmosphere, and the timeless beauty found in nature and human experience.

Completing the exhibition is the ethereal, yet dynamic mixed media work of artist and teacher, Nancy Slaght, whose layered and expressive creations blur the boundaries between traditional and contemporary art practices. Slaght’s work invites the viewer to reflect on creativity itself as a form of beauty and connection using birds and music.

Together, these three artists create a rich and inspiring dialogue between photography, realism, and mixed media expression. “Reflecting Beauty” celebrate a world view through three artistic viewpoints.

The ArtSea Gallery Program is presented by ArtSea Community Arts Council.

There is a new art exhibition each week at the ArtSea Gallery. Explore diverse art, meet artists, and experience creativity and community. Exhibitions and workshops are presented and managed by local artists and artisans.

A wonderful team of ArtSea Staff and volunteers maintain the gallery space and office so that is available for the use of the community.

The gallery facility is owned and the exterior property is maintained by the Town of Sidney.

ArtSea is pleased to work together with the Town of Sidney and other contributors, including the District of North Saanich, the District of Central Saanich, the Victoria Foundation, and Peninsula Co-op to provide this space as a hub for community connection and enrichment.

ArtSea is fortunate to operate within the unceded territory of the Coast Salish People – within the traditional territory of the W̱SÁNEĆ Nation – Pauquachin, Tsartlip, Tsawout and Tseycum peoples.
