Based in Langford, BC, Christina Morrison is a self-taught acrylic artist dedicated to documenting the rugged industrial heartbeat of the Pacific Northwest. As a member of the Canadian Society of Marine Artists, Christina specializes in capturing the “soul” of the West Coast—its tugboats, old wooden vessels, and the working harbours that define the region.
Christina is currently engaged in her most ambitious undertaking to date: The West Coast Tug Project. Launched in 2020, this mission involves painting every working tugboat on the coast of British Columbia—over 575 vessels. With over 100 paintings already completed in collaboration with mariners and photographers, Christina’s work serves as a living archive. Her goal is to ensure these vessels are recognized as a vital part of Maritime history, eventually culminating in a comprehensive coffee table book series.
Growing up in Sooke, BC, Christina’s connection to the water is lifelong. Her work has been featured in the Sooke Fine Arts Show (2015, 2016, 2019) and the Madrona Gallery, along with several artist residencies at historic sites like Fort Rodd Hill.
Today, Christina paints from her studio in Langford, BC. Her art is more than a visual representation; it is a bridge to the memories and stories of the coastal communities she honors. She continues to work toward her dream of an ocean-view studio, where the tides can continually inspire her next series of vessels.

There is a new art exhibition each week at the ArtSea Gallery. Explore diverse art, meet artists, and experience creativity and community. Exhibitions and workshops are presented and managed by local artists and artisans.
A wonderful team of ArtSea Staff and volunteers maintain the gallery space and office so that is available for the use of the community.
The gallery facility is owned and the exterior property is maintained by the Town of Sidney.
ArtSea is pleased to work together with the Town of Sidney and other contributors, including the District of North Saanich, the District of Central Saanich, the Victoria Foundation, and Peninsula Co-op to provide this space as a hub for community connection and enrichment.
ArtSea is fortunate to operate within the unceded territory of the Coast Salish People – within the traditional territory of the W̱SÁNEĆ Nation – Pauquachin, Tsartlip, Tsawout and Tseycum peoples.
