2026 ArtSea Gallery Rental Application

ArtSea Members can apply to rent the Artsea Gallery space for a duration of one-week (Friday to Thursday). All exhibitions and workshops are artist directed. Renters include Individual (solo) Renters, as well as Group Renters. Groups must designate one person to be the Main Contact; this person will be responsible for communications and documentation on behalf of their rental group. Rental fees: $600, which includes a non-refundable deposit of $200 paid immediately with the submission of this application (please have payment method ready). The main contact will receive confirmation of the rental week within two to four weeks of submission confirmation.

Gallery Rental Dates and Deposit Fees.

ArtSea Gallery artist exhibition: one-week art show, Friday to Thursday. Please select three rental dates (in order of preference) that are “AVAILABLE” on the 2026 ArtSea Gallery Rental Calendar (artsea.ca). Your dates and application will be reviewed according to the preset “Criteria for Approval” (see the 2026 ArtSea Gallery Rental Package), and the ArtSea Gallery Team will contact you to confirm your rental date. If your application does not meet the criteria, or a suitable date cannot be secured, the $200 deposit will be returned. Once your rental date is confirmed, the $200 deposit is non-refundable.

Show Description

Exhibition hours (daily start and end times)

Shows at the ArtSea Gallery must be open to the public from 10am-4pm, seven days per week, with a minimum of one attendant to welcome visitors. Exhibition hours can be extended to begin as early as 8am and end as late as 8pm (except on the final day), based on preference/availability.

Will you be providing demonstrations of your art form during your rental week?

This information may be included as part of the ArtSea online event calendar listing. Please note that demonstrations that involve significant debris or mess (including clay or pottery) are not permitted during the rental week. This is due to the additional cleaning expense and time that is required, as well as the quick turn around time between exhibitions. Thank you for respecting the space, the gallery team, and your fellow gallery renters.

Rental Agreement:

ArtSea Gallery in Tulista Park provides rental space for arts and cultural practitioners for one‐week blocks. Renters include Individual (solo) Renters, as well as Group Renters. Groups must designate one person to be the Main Contact; this person will be responsible for communications and documentation on behalf of their rental group. For the Purposes of the ArtSea Gallery Rental Agreement, the Main Contact will also be considered the Renter.

As the Renter, I agree to:*

Each item must be reviewed and checked to indicate that you have read and understand the Rental Agreement Terms.

Review the ArtSea Gallery Rental Package, which includes essential rental information, and take full responsibility for ensuring that all group participants read the package, follow ArtSea Policies and Procedures, and receive essential renter information and communication.

Pay a $200 deposit with the Gallery Rental Application, with the understanding that your gallery rental or your preferred date is not guaranteed. Your dates and application will be reviewed according to the “Gallery Rental Criteria for Approval” (see the ArtSea Gallery Rental Package). A member of the ArtSea Team will contact you to confirm your rental date. If your application does not meet the criteria, or a suitable date cannot be secured, the $200 deposit will be returned. Once your rental date is confirmed, the $200 deposit is non-refundable.

Pay the $400 Gallery Rental balance (an invoice will be sent via email) two months prior to the event date, for a total Gallery Rental fee of $600.

Ensure that all participants hold a valid ArtSea Membership; two months prior to the Gallery Rental Date, the Main Contact will confirm with all participants that memberships are up to date.

Ensure that all participants read and follow the Code of Conduct outlined in the ArtSea Gallery Rental Package.

Adhere to the ArtSea Gallery Presentation Standards outlined in the ArtSea Gallery Rental Package.

Provide an electronic poster (as soon as possible) for the ArtSea website, and two printed posters (two months prior to the exhibition), one to display within the ArtSea area of the gallery and one to include in the exterior display case.

Attend the ArtSea Gallery Orientation Session at 6pm on Thursday evening (the day before the Friday Rental start date). Also attend the Exit Interview at the scheduled time with a Member of the ArtSea Gallery Team to ensure all exit and clean-up procedures are complete.

Ensure the gallery is open daily from 10am-4pm, with a minimum of one attendant to welcome visitors.

Provide a system to manage sales of artwork (The ArtSea Gallery does not provide a Point of Sale system).

Manage marketing and promotions for the Rental Week. While ArtSea is pleased to provide a space for your exhibition, rental fees do not cover marketing and promotional services for your show.

Treat the ArtSea Galley facility and equipment with care and respect, according to ArtSea standards. Renters will be responsible for the repair or replacement of damaged property or equipment. Note: Display equipment at the ArtSea Gallery that is available to Renters may change without notice.

Follow specified Health and Safety protocols according to the ArtSea Gallery Team and current federal and provincial health and safety protocols.

Allow the ArtSea team to take photos of exhibitions, classes, or workshops for use in promotional material and social media. Copyright and artwork will be respected.

Waiver of Liability and Insurance:

ArtSea strives to maintain a safe work environment and to protect Renters, employees, volunteers and visitors from accidents at the ArtSea Gallery in Tulista Park. ArtSea, its Board of Directors, employees, or volunteers cannot be held liable for any loss, damage or injury that may occur. All health or safety issues must be reported immediately, in writing, to the ArtSea Team.

Insurance for artwork and other items belonging by the renters is not provided by the ArtSea Gallery; renters must obtain their own insurance, if so desired.

ArtSea Gallery Rental Fees:

The Renter (Main Contact) will be contacted to within two to four weeks to confirm gallery rental dates and exhibition details. Please note that the $200 deposit does not guarantee your rental week or the “first choice” week indicated in the rental application. The ArtSea Team will do our very best to accommodate your preferred date.Approximately 2 months prior to your confirmed rental date, an invoice for the balance of the rental amount ($400) will be emailed to the “Main Contact” from our online payment system, “The Square.”Please note that paying online reduces administrative costs and enables more funding for arts and culture programs.
