In this painting the artist intended to create a piece where the viewer could focus on the minimalist look of a seascape. The driftwood rocking by the soft waves. Cradled in the wet sand. A moody sky that invites for better days. An island surrounded by fog. Colours that are subdued and yet alive. Residing in Vancouver Island this seascape can resonate to many. Even though we all wait eagerly for summer, we can’t deny the almost spiritual experience that it is to be standing by the shore and see the mist moving through our bodies. From a cold breeze to an almost still in the space in time feeling. West Coast sceneries and the fog go together like nothing else.
