Description | I make whimsical hand-built pots and small sculptures in my home in Central Saanich. Since my retirement from the health care system, I have also been working with Sue Starkey at 2 Crows Studio in North Saanich.
The things that inspire my work are a love of animals, being in nature and being in and working in my garden. My English and Scottish ancestry inspire some of my more medieval pieces while many years of caring for seniors has influenced the faces I make.
I am a member of the Southern Vancouver Island Potters Guild and ArtSea in Sidney B.C. My latest shows were with the Pacific Rim Potters.
I grew up in Calgary, attended the Alberta College of Arts and apprenticed with Calgary potter Jim Kalbfleish for a year.
I have lived in Victoria, Kelowna and Ottawa, then back to Vancouver Island near Sidney where I have lived for 31 years. I taught pottery, participated in sales and exhibited in all these locals.
You will find me most mornings hiking on the beautiful trails of the Saanich Peninsula. |
