Rachel is an oil painter focusing on realism, living in Victoria BC with her husband. Her studio is based in their small home in the city.
Painting the hypnotic motion of the ocean and the wild west coast of Canada brings Rachel peace and reprieve from chronic Lyme Disease.
Her goal is to translate that moment of peaceful escape that she feels whilst painting to the viewer. Offering a moment of pause as you recollect west coast memories and are transported back to the special places where you strolled along the beach with family and friends. Recalling that quiet and calm feeling you get when you step onto the empty beach and hear the water gently fizzing as it washes over the sand. To remind you how getting back into nature can reset your mind, giving both peace and perspective.
