Description of your art form | Wearable Art Jewelry |
Description | My design inspiration is the magnificent nature around me and I love to experiment with form, texture and asymmetrical designs.
I work primarily with Sterling, Argentium and fine silver and occasionally NuGold (jeweller’s bronze), copper and brass. Using techniques such as forging, fold-forming, fusion, casting and reticulation, alone or in combination, each necklace, bracelet, ring or earring is a unique sculptural piece of wearable art. Sometimes a piece is designed specifically to showcase a pearl, piece of amber or an unusual gem. I have a particular weakness for large baroque pearls and old amber nuggets.
Many of my most satisfying creations have been those designed in collaboration with clients who wanted to incorporate or transform a treasured heirloom into a contemporary piece of jewelry.
I am delighted to be represented by: Juried Art Shows: Sooke Fine Art Show 2016, 2017, 2018 (Honourable Mention Award), 2019 Victoria Art Now Fine Art Show 2017 |
