The wild, rocky west coast of Canada inspires me. The sheltered islets and bays of the Gulf Islands – to the misty, storm-tossed sands of Long Beach on the west side of Vancouver Island. Standing on the edge of the country and knowing that, beyond the horizon, the next stop is Japan.
In sharp contrast, the vast openness of the Canadian prairie lands have also attracted me – from the sweeping expanses of yellow canola, to the sparse rolling hills and farmlands fading off into the distance to the rugged Rockies Mountains. The way you can stand under a sky, clear blue and cloudless from horizon to horizon – or watch waves of clouds and rain race towards you across the fields.

Artist, Victor was born in 1959, and spent his first few years in the prairie lands of western Canada. Whether through music, painting, photography or cartooning, Victor expressed his imagination with enthusiasm and humour.
He studied both fine art and commercial art. After graduation he joined the fast-paced world of advertising as an Art Director, in Ottawa. He soon found himself drawn back toward his western roots. Packing up his guitar, paints, brushes and drawing board, he headed west.
Now settled in beautiful Victoria, Victor has made his living as a Graphic Designer, while continuing to fulfill his creative soul through his art. The allure of the coast and the prairies, even to this day, remains with Victor.
His new water colours capture the natural beauty and scope of our wonderful landscapes.
