Description of your art form | Photography and Photographic Printing |
Description | I am interested in most everything photographic, including making digital images and prints, both color and black and white. After a business career, I completed photography and art history diplomas, at Focal Point and UBC in Vancouver. I consider myself a generalist making photographs of landscape, wildlife, action, people, macro and abstract subjects. I continue to learn by participating at master photographer workshops to broaden my photographic skills and appreciation. This past September I did a workshop with Freeman Patterson and Andre Gallant in New Brunswick. In November 2018 I completed a print workshop at Santa Fe NM, with fine art printer Mac Holbert. I will make photographs wherever we travel. Our last significant trip was in 2018 when we hiked and photographed in Croatia. I have served on the executive of Canadian Association for Photographic Art and participate as a CAPA certified judge for photographic competitions. This past camera club year I volunteered as the Victoria Camera Club CAPA & PSA rep, in addition to managing the club presenter night program, and participating as a member of the external competition committee. My preference is Nikon gear for nature and action photography with mirrorless Fuji gear for travelling and street photography. From conception to composition of the initial image, the required post processing through to the final printing of the image is my work.
