Description | USING ACRYLIC, OIL OR WATERCOLOUR PAINT SHARON CREATES WORK DEPICTING LOCAL LANDSCAPES, SEASCAPES AND PEOPLE. SHE ALSO ENJOYS PAINTING NON-REPRESENTATIONAL PIECES THAT ADD VARIETY TO HER WORK.
She has participated in many shows and has been fortunate to receive many juror’s awards during those events. For many years she opened her home studio during ArtSea’s spring studio tours.
She began her art studies taking courses at the University of Alberta in the mid 70’s. After arriving on the Island she participated in art workshops at The Vancouver Island School of Art and also attended many workshops taught by well known artists in Canada and the U.S. many of which were sponsored by the Saanich Peninsula Arts and Crafts Society.
She has been a member of the Saanich Peninsula Arts and Crafts Society for well over 20 years and has held several executive positions during her membership including Vice President and President.
In 1998 she was juried into the Federation of Canadian Artists (FCA) as an Active Status Member. She is an ArtSea Community Council member, a Pacific Palettes painting group member.
