Deep Cove Folk is an informal group that has operated for 26 years through the efforts of volunteers who are dedicated to the idea that a monthly night of acoustic music in the relaxed setting of a small country church is a valuable and enjoyable aspect of our community. We are a non-profit organization, registered under the BC Societies Act and our goal is to take in sufficient money to meet our expenses and pay the musicians. Even the volunteers and the directors pay admission to our monthly concerts.
Deep Cove Folk was initiated in January 1989 by our founding mother, Jill King, and DCF has continued since then at the same venue, St Johns United Church, which recently received a heritage building designation by the District of North Saanich.
The format for Deep Cove Folk is a 45-60 minute open stage (10 minutes per performer) followed by a 15 minute break break for tea and coffee and edible goodies and then a 45-60 minute concert by a featured artist or group.
