I was born in Vancouver and have lived all my life in BC. The ocean and the symmetry of nature provide inspiration for me. I have used many other mediums in my life to express my artistic talents; however, exploring the unique properties of silver and copper has dominated my passion for creating wearable art since 2004.
The pieces I create are individual and unique with distinct designs most certainly influenced by my mathematical background. Logarithmic spirals found in nature such as ammonite fossils, shells, and sunflowers inspire me. Circles and spirals are a constant theme in my work.
My art is to be worn; therefore, I am concerned not only with appearance, but also with touch and form – how does it feel on the skin – how does it lie on the body? I want to adorn the body, feed the soul and create pieces that have an organic energy.
Perhaps the most important thing is that I love doing what I am doing. Art is a means of communication and I have found this to be true with my art.
