Something for Everyone-2
October 11 – October 17
Show hours: 10am – 4pm, daily.
Participants: Linda Anne Baker, Susan Romphf, Judi Neudorf and Margaret McIntosh
After a highly successful show last year, Linda Anne Baker and Susan Romphf return along with two new artists for Something for Everyone-2. Since all four work in different mediums, we’re sure that everyone will find something, either for themselves or to give to others! Silver and gem jewelry, pottery, cards, matted prints, framed originals, as well as handbags and other items made from fused silk, will be featured. The artists will also be providing demos on how their creations are made! Winner of multiple awards in many national and international competitions, Linda Anne Baker‘s images have been published in numerous magazines and in three books. Her curiosity and drive to create have led her down many artistic paths, including Chinese brush painting, printmaking, collage, fibre art, photography and watercolour. She will also have her tiny haiku book necklaces, as well as other new haiku related items. Margaret McIntosh has been creating with clay for about eight years. She gravitated to hand-building for the freedom it allows in creating unique pieces that feature beautiful textures and a range of surface decorating techniques. Nature provides the subject for much of her work, inspiring her use of botanical and wooden elements. A member of the South Vancouver Island Potters, she can be followed on Instagram: @wildcarrotarts Judi Neudorf is a metalsmith working in sterling silver and some mixed metal projects as well. Her ideas come from years of living overseas and the sights she has seen on her travels. Now she lives in Victoria where the West Coast provides unlimited inspiration for her designs. She has taught jewelry making to small groups and her products have been sold in several stores and in juried shows. Susan Romphf is a textile and fibre artist working with silk fibre, cork and vinyl. Her creative process began when she learned the process of silk fusion about fifteen years ago. She was hooked! Susan uses this fabric as an accent in her cork and vinyl bags. Combining machine-embroidered images with the silk fusion pieces, she creates one-of-a-kind bags, wallets, gift cards and home decor. Susan loves to share these colourful creations. Please refer to the Membership Profiles on the ArtSea Gallery website for more information on individual artists. |
